Methodist Men

Helping men grow in Christ, so others may know Christ.

At Moriah United Methodist Church, all our men are considered to be UMM members whether able to attend all the monthly meetings or not.

We typically have a “core group” of men that meets on the second Monday of every month at 7:00 PM in the Friendly Spirit Sunday School classroom. We would love to have that number increase so please feel welcome to accept our invitation to join.

Most monthly meetings begin with a devotional, then business matters are discussed. We usually meet for about one hour.

Discussions cover topics such as how to provide support for a variety of organizations or causes, matters specific to Moriah UMC, such as fundraising efforts.

We welcome ideas or suggestions you would like to bring to our group. We also partner with the Helping Hands Circle from time to time in some of their efforts and since they also meet at the same date and time, why not come on out and bring your lovely lady with you to join in their activities as well.

In the past, our principal fundraising event has been cooking and selling Brunswick Stew which usually involves a host of members; not just the men. It involves a lot of work but there’s a lot of good fellowship as well. We may be tired by the time it’s over, but we have a good time and great fellowship.

The profits from this event are used to support a variety of missions such as: United Methodist Committee on Relief, Vandalia Elementary School, WNCC Methodist Men’s missions, Moriah UMC Pastor’s Discretionary fund, Moriah UMC Angel fund, miscellaneous Moriah budget matters.
