Rev. Dr. Carroll Carter – Pastor

Rev. Carroll C. Carter was born and reared in Hickory, NC. He accepted the Call to the Gospel Ministry in 199l and was ordained in 1995. He was accepted into the Virginia Annual Conference in June 1999. At the 2001 Virginia Annual Conference, Rev. Carter was ordained an Elder in Full Connection. He received his Masters of Divinity in 1998 at Virginia Union University/School of Theology. He has been educated in several other colleges and universities: The University of the District of Columbia (UDC), Washington, DC (B.A. Political Science), Southern University School of Law, Baton Rouge, LA (Juris Doctorate of Law), and Norfolk State University, Norfolk, VA (Special Education Teaching Certificate). Rev. Carter served in the U.S. Army as a Claims and Trial Defense Services, Staff Judge Advocates Office. He also taught in the Virginia Public School System for eight years and eighteen months in the Beaumont Juvenile Justice System/Department of Juvenile Corrections. The most important statement that can be made by or about Rev. Carter is that he is not only a Child of God, but a Child of God who is willing to learn, share, build, and empower relevant community functioning. His hobbies are reading, golf, gardening/yard design, fishing and (most important) spending time with his wife and daughters. He is happily married to the former Fredia Liles (31 years) and the daddy of two daughter, Courtney Carolle Hopkins (Quentin), Constance Carrole and proud granddaddy of their first grandchild, Quentin Wayne Hopkins, II.


Our Music Director – Cristian J. Albee

Cristian J. Albee is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Choral Conducting at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he studies with Dr. Carole J. Ott and is assistant conductor of the University Chorale, Women’s and Men’s Glee Clubs, and Women’s Choir. Mr. Albee is the Director of Music at Moriah United Methodist Church, where he has prepared and presented many successful performances, including an abridged arrangement of Mozart’s Requiem in D Minor in 2016.  Through the Greensboro City Arts Drama Center, he has served as music director for shows including You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Narnia.  Mr. Albee has performed with several area ensembles, including singing in Bel Canto Company and serving as the Triad Pride Performing Arts pianist across two seasons. Mr. Albee holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he studied voice with Dr. Donald Hartmann and piano with Dr. George Kiorpes.

Cristian joined the staff at Moriah UMC in September 2012 as the Director of Music, and picked up the Administrative Assistant position in July 2013.
